WTOP Thinks Outside the Box

WTOP recently relaunched their mobile application. The app combines a native app with the station’s mobile site making it easier for WTOP to make changes. The app has helped to increase their mobile traffic, which now makes up 10% of the stations total digital traffic. “To be a news leader in Washington, D.C., we have to be on the same platforms as everybody else,” said John Meyer, director of digital media at WTOP. “We have to think outside the traditional radio bucket.”
