jacAPPS has been selected by The Ford Motor Company as the development house to help our clients, as well as all mobile app developers configure their apps to work on all cars that have the SYNC® AppLink™ system. This brings parity to radio stations, apps that use mapping, and any other app that can take advantage of the “connected car.”
For individual radio stations, this means that listeners will be able to access radio station apps through the vehicle’s center display. Using SYNC© voice command, along with steering wheel and radio buttons, listeners can enjoy a live audio stream or their favorite podcasts from within the mobile app. This is a significant breakthrough for the radio industry that will allow AM/FM stations to have parity on the vehicle’s digital screen.
For other app developers, jacAPPS is available to provide the necessary code and testing in order to pass Ford’s requirements.
