Earlier this year, mobile market analyst Flurry Analytics found that smartphone users are spending more time in mobile apps per day than the average Internet users spend online.
Flurry now reveals even more stunning news. Mobile advertising could absorb all Internet advertising in as little as six months.
“U.S. app inventory is not only growing at a staggering rate, but also poised to absorb the equivalent of the entire U.S. Internet display advertising spend by the end of this year.” That is according to Flurry.
The company points out the four key reasons for this growth:
1. Over 350 million smartphone devices are in use and over 1 million more being activated each day.
2. Over 600,000 apps are available.
3. People are spending more time with apps.
4. Publishers are integrating more ads in apps due to this larger audience.
Flurry found that the average app session time is 4.2 minutes compared to just under 1 minute for websites.
